• Jockeys are generally self employed who get paid a set fee by the horse trainer, regardless of if their horse wins or not, plus a percentage of the winnings.
• The weight of a jockey is set by the racing authorities, and is strictly regulated for the safety of the horse. The weight limit includes the jockey's equipment.
• Currently the tallest racing jockey is Louise Moeller from Denmark. She is 6'1", whereas the tallest male jockey currently is from the UK - Richard Hughes at 5'10", HOWEVER, in 2003, Manute Bol was licenced by the Indiana Horse Racing Commission when he did a fundraising event as a jockey, making him technically the tallest jockey ever, at 7'7"!
